Robert Feliu⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Must-See at West Point — The Frederic V. Malek West Point Visitors Center The Frederic V. Malek West Point Visitors Center at the U.S. Military Academy is, without question, one of the finest and most comprehensive visitor information centers I have ever experienced. It does an exceptional job of explaining and illustrating the entire 47-month cadet experience at West Point, from the journey toward admission and Cadet Basic Training through the academic, military, physical, and character-development programs that ultimately culminate in graduation and commissioning. This is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting West Point. More importantly, I would strongly recommend it to any young man or woman—and their family—who is seriously considering competing for an appointment to the United States Military Academy. The exhibits provide an outstanding introduction to what West Point demands, what it offers, and what it means to become part of the Long Gray Line. As a West Point alumnus with more than four decades of perspective on the Academy, I was genuinely impressed by both the quality of the exhibits and the accuracy of the information presented. The displays are informative, engaging, professionally designed, and remarkably effective at bringing the West Point experience to life. Incredible! The welcoming staff at the front desk also deserves special recognition. They are friendly, helpful, professional, and provide exactly the kind of first impression that visitors to the United States Military Academy should receive. My one recommendation would be the development of an officially approved Malek Visitors Center/West Point guidebook that visitors could purchase and take home. A high-quality guidebook explaining the exhibits, Academy landmarks, cadet traditions, history, and the 47-month experience would be an invaluable companion piece and, in my opinion, would truly complete the visitor experience. All in all, this is time and effort exceptionally well spent. If you have the opportunity to set foot on West Point, make the time to visit the Malek Center—preferably before exploring the Academy itself. Once you have experienced the Visitors Center, so much of what you subsequently see across West Point will have greater context, meaning, and significance. Do not miss it. The Malek West Point Visitors Center should be one of the very first stops for every visitor to the United States Military Academy!
