The sweet smell of candles that lingered the sidewalk pulled me in and I’m so glad it did because not only did I get handcrafted candles each dipped with love, I got a mind altering conversation which left me feeling refreshed and blessed to have walked in the door. This is definitely my spot for candles from here on out. I don’t think I have ever met anyone with such a beautiful outlook and I’m so grateful for that experience!

Hex KleinmartinSo, whenever I am setting out to sightsee and get information for a review, I always check in with the owner/employees of a place in order to let them know why I'm taking pictures and to ask if there's anything special that people should know. Peter (the owner/craftsman for 55 years) told me that he really didn't want a review, because he didn't want people to have expectations or to be directed to a certain way of thinking. He really wanted people to come in and be surprised, and have their own genuine experience, and I totally understand that. As such, you won't find any interior pictures of the shop with my review. (You'll have to go see for yourself! 😉) Please go, because the candles are all handmade by a real person who is a delight. And if you're lucky, he'll have his car, 'Sunshine', sitting out front to brighten your day.

William PatakyThis is the finest shop in Sugar Loaf. I have been coming here since I was a kid with my parents when we lived in Monroe. Peter ( I call him candle guy) is phenomenal. He is a true artisan and exactly what Sugar Loaf is all about. He produces only one scent of candle but it's a beautiful scent. He makes all types of tapers and larger candles which are great for all rooms and occasions. When you make a purchase he even says goodbye to the candles instructing them to light the purchases way. You can't help but feel calm and happy in his shop. If you are in Sugar Loaf, stop into the candle shop, you will be glad you did.
