Clean big parking lot that looks new. There are also new hiking trails around the area. Beautiful view of the mountains and the train bridge. I hiked the nearby mountains back and forth about 9 miles. Very well marked trail with beautiful views that stretch more than 20 miles all around.

We did the Trestle for 2 evenings and then climbed the Schunnemunk mountain a Saturday morning. The trestles - The gravel terrain was good for the feet. Sunset view is spectacular. Air is fresh and the views are very refreshing. Mountain, meadows, and a wide expanse of wild flowers . As for the Schunnemunk mountain trail - best to do the hike with proper hiking shoes and hiking sticks. We took the red and then the black and white trail while going up. Mountain top views were great. Rock formations are varied. Coming down we did the yellow trail. Rocky path and parallel to the stream. The sunlight through the trees , the pleasant breeze, fresh air the noise of flowing water and the exercise is what no gym can offer.

Parking lot is open. There's even 4 EV charging stations. It is still under construction tho. We had a strenuous hike up to Sharon's Bench. It was no joke, but the view was wonderful from up there. Lotta bugs.

Parking lot holds about 30 cars. No bathroom facilities, no entry fee. Trail markings are not the greatest. Download a map or take a picture of the map at the Trailhead. Bring enough water and wear hiking boots. It's very rocky. Bring plenty of bug spray!!! Not crowded at all even with today's great weather.
