Research shows that the simple act of choosing a real tree, whether in the field or from a fresh-cut selection, can naturally lift your spirits and enhance the joy of the season. Emmerich Tree Farm, 101 Sleepy Valley Road, Warwick, N.Y.: Nov. 28-20, Dec. 6 and 7, 9:10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Choose from blue spruce, white spruce, Norway spruce, concolor fir, and more. After finding your perfect tree, enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate, festive activities, and The Real Santa Experience: a tractor ride through the woods to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus’ magical cabin above the farm. The popular wreath-making class also returns, along with a market featuring handcrafted Adirondack woodworks, New England made bells and locally made chocolates and sweets. Pine View Farm, 575 Jackson View Ave., New Windsor, N.Y.: Open for one special weekend only: December 6 and 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This festive destination invites you to wander through a winter wonderland of 10,000 Christmas trees spread across scenic fields connected by woodland trails. Discover your perfect tree among beautiful varieties like blue spruce, white spruce, Meyer spruce, Canaan fir, and concolor fir, reaching heights of up to 10 feet. It’s the ultimate holiday adventure filled with fresh air, festive spirit, and the joy of finding the tree that’s just right for your home.

Stone Oak Tree Farm, 207 Stony Bar Road, Slate Hill, N.Y.: Weekends beginning Nov. 29, 10 a.m. – dusk. Explore more than eight acres of beautiful blue spruce, white spruce, and Canaan fir, each waiting to become the centerpiece of your holidays. Make a day of it or turn your visit into a cozy getaway at the on-site bed and breakfast. Savor complimentary hot chocolate and candy canes and unwind by the crackling fireplace in the rustic barn, the perfect ending to a picture-perfect holiday outing. Weekday visits are available by appointment, offering a peaceful, personalized tree-cutting experience.

Pierson’s Farm, 1448 Route 211, Middletown, N.Y.: Nov. 28 through Dec. 23, noon – 5 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday – Sunday (closed Mondays). Cut your own Christmas tree, take a wreath-making class and pick up Christmas tree accessories including wreaths, rope, kissing ball ornaments and more. Reservations are required for tree-cutting and wreath class, but you can drop in and pick up a pre-cut tree anytime. For an extra dash of holiday spirit, come for the Winter Fest Holiday Market on Dec. 6 and 7.

Rocky Bar Farm, 52 Rocky Bar Road, Westtown, N.Y.: Open Nov. 29 and 30, and Dec. 6, 7 and 13, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Celebrate the 20th season of this beloved family-owned farm! Rocky Bar welcomes Hudson Valley visitors for choose-and-cut and precut trees during the last weekend of November and the first two weekends of December. Stroll through the fields to find your perfect blue spruce, Douglas fir, or white spruce, then stop by the cozy holiday shop to browse a festive selection of wreaths and ornaments, perfect for a little early holiday shopping while you’re there.
