“It is an incredible honor to host this esteemed pageant and to have Miss New York and Miss New York’s Teen crowned right here in Orange County!” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “We are thrilled to be part of the celebration and to have the contestants, their supporters and fans of the event get a taste of what makes Orange County such a special place.”
The competition will stretch over three nights at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, leading to the crowning of both Miss New York and Miss New York’s Teen on Saturday, July 12.
Additional events will round out the week’s festivities—though these are closed to the public, they’re sure to bring plenty of fun for the contestants! The excitement kicks off on Tuesday with the arrival of participants competing for both titles. Throughout the week, in between rehearsals and dinners, the contestants will enjoy themed activities including a pajama rehearsal, School Spirit Day, Silly Sock Day, Super Hero Day, and Dress-Up Day—all designed to add some extra joy and camaraderie to their experience.
On Friday, July 11, The Castle Fun Center in Chester will host a special party for the Empire Stars—children ages 3 to 12 who participate in the Miss New York experience, even though they’re not yet old enough to compete in the Miss New York or Miss New York’s Teen programs. The public is invited to join the fun at The Castle Fun Center, 109 Brookside Ave., from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
That evening, Miss New York will hold a Summer Soiree at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester.
On Saturday, July 12, Foundry42 located in Port Jervis will host the crowning of the Empire Stars.
The celebration will begin with the Empire Star Breakfast, followed by the official crowning ceremony. Later in the day, Abby Quammen and Peyton Bolling will host a special reading hour, inspired by Abby’s passion for closing the literacy gap among young people.
The event will also feature photo opportunities and autograph signings with Abby and Peyton, making it a memorable experience for all who attend.
“The Empire Stars Crowning is a super fun, uplifting event,” Dana said. “Each participant will introduce themselves, receive a crown and sash, and spend time with Abigail and Peyton.”
Presented by the Miss New York Scholarship Organization, the Miss New York competition is more than just a pageant—it’s a platform that empowers young women across the state to grow as leaders and advocates. The program promotes community service, builds public speaking and communication skills and provides valuable opportunities to earn academic scholarships.
