Wow!!! We just spent a couple of nights here after our local wedding in Middletown. It was absolutely perfect! Doug was so accommodating from the start, a gem to work with! We filled the inn with out of town wedding guests and friends and it was so delightful. For the stay, we booked the private cottage which is so well appointed with luxury items and touches. We were lucky enough that while on property, the Polo horses from Florida were on their yearly summer retreat and what a sight to see as you walk around and explore the grounds. The breakfast both days were decadent, gourmet and delicious! So much love and thought is put into each detail. We were so full, we didn't even need lunch. I told Doug (and the new husband), that we will surely be back for an anniversary, if not before! Thank you so much!!!!!
Jun 5, 2026 · Google ReviewMy husband planned a surprise romantic weekend away for our ten year wedding anniversary at the Hudson Valley Rose Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts, Doug and Jace, were more than welcoming and accommodating. They made the weekend extra special and cozy. The home itself is dripping in charm and history and is such a beautiful escape. The breakfasts were so creative and delicious (in particular the gochujang sugar cookies were a hit), we literally did not feel hungry until dinnertime. Would definitely recommend staying here to family and friends and hope to visit again soon!
Nov 10, 2025 · Google ReviewMy husband and I just had the loveliest anniversary weekend while staying at the HV Rose B&B! Doug was a wonderful host and chef. His breakfasts were delicious, varied, creative and very filling! Kudos to the chef! The property itself is stunning. If I were ever to own a B&B, I would want it to be just like this one. The renovated historic stone farmhouse was gorgeous, cozy, very well-appointed with every comfort of home and lots of unexpected extras such as snacks in our room, waters, high end toiletries, etc. Doug also had loads of suggestions for things to do in the area, many of which were able to fit in..all great experiences! We felt that the area was perfect for a weekend away, and, as seasoned travellers who have stayed at many, many B&Bs around the country (and world), I can highly recommend this gem in the Hudson Valley. It was a treat to come "home" to this lovely property each night, and we look forward to a return visit. Thank you, Doug, for creating such a lovely home away from home!
Oct 8, 2025 · Google ReviewWe came up for a quick getaway from the city and were blown away by the tranquil location, whimsically curated room, and incredible hospitality provided by Doug. Breakfast was an absolute event and the soaking tub in the Manchester room has ruined us forever! We cannot wait to return! Thanks Doug!
Oct 4, 2025 · Google ReviewWe had the most magical experience at the Hudson Valley Rose!! Everything from beginning to end was beyond perfection. We had a late arrival due to flight delays and the hosts had our room cozy and all impeccably ready for us down to every last detail. They were so accessible via text and it made communication such a breeze. The breakfast cooked by Doug each morning was unbelievable. Such attention to detail, such wonderful food and just the best energy/warmth exuding from every inch of this place. We can’t wait to return!!
Aug 22, 2025 · Google ReviewThe Hudson Valley Rose is amazing. My partner and I drove up from North Carolina for a wedding in Middletown and spent three nights in the Laura Ashley room. Doug was a lovely, gracious host and provided the ideal balance of hospitality and privacy. His breakfasts (and Jace’s baked goods!) were delicious, the house and property were incredible, and the views and scenery were stunning. Before we’d even left, we were already discussing plans to return in the fall! An easy five stars—don’t miss this gem!
Jul 5, 2025 · Google ReviewThis is a very special place that is being taken care of by two very special people. The attention to detail and the effort to make you feel welcome is extraordinary. Is it very clear that Doug and Jace have made an exceptional effort to provide an amazing experience in Hudson Valley. We cannot thank them enough.
Jun 15, 2025 · Google ReviewSuch a lovely and wonderful experience staying here this past weekend. Doug is so friendly and his breakfast's are top notch! Jace's baked goods are incredible as well. As a cook myself, I had to ask for the recipes, which they were so kind to share. From the delicious food to the beautiful accommodations this place is a must if you're looking for a B&B in HV. Doug's recommendations of activities and restaurants were also 5 stars as well. Thank you Doug and Jace!
Mar 24, 2025 · Google ReviewWe had an extraordinary experience at the Hudson Valley Rose. We stayed for two nights in November 2019. The place is beautifully appointed, from the way the rustic, tasteful rooms are furnished to the elegant and luxurious bathrooms. The beds were also amazing - a super comfortable mattress, and oh my goodness the sheets were so soft we wanted to take them home with us. It is also hard to explain just how good the food is. The owners cook it themselves, and from the fluffy homemade frittata with local eggs and the French press coffee to the creative, delicious porridges and mind-blowing shakshuka, we were in heaven. They could open a brunch place alone and still draw us up from the city. The location is also great. First, it was a 1.5 hour drive from the UWS. We took short drives each day, once to see the art at DIA:Beacon, another to do the “Gertrude’s Nose” hike in Minnewasaka State Park. We also considered Storm King and the Culinary Institute of America, both of which are nearby. The place itself is situated on 60+ acres, which meant we got lots of solitude, quiet, and natural beauty just out the bedroom window. In short, we fell in love and will be back soon.
