GRHJackWhen my dear friend invited me to hike Bear Mountain, I was not prepared for the sights that came with. I was truly just looking for a "trail". We stopped a few times to capture video and pictures. It's really hard to not leave with a picture (or two) that you want to print or share. I also suggest taking a few moments to suck it all in. Yes, it's a scenic spot, but you're still in thick of it all.

Michael AdlerThis is a great hike, however, it’s really inexcusable that NYS can’t find a way to provide water or bathrooms at the top of one of the busiest hiking trails in the state. Badly serviced porta potties only and no water fountains. There are water vending machines ($$) but all were inoperative on a recent weekend.

CPMCame here early to see the sunrise, but it does not open before sunset. Still the view was amazing shortly after sunrise.
