Like others have said: pay attention to the address/entrance. It seems hard to find it. Here the coordinates (41.4449838, -74.6097368) since following the address proved not that useful. The green and white sign is hard to spot and it seems a one way road since it is fairly narrow (it’s also not paved so be aware during rainy days). That said: it’s a beautiful place overall, especially during the fall season. At the end of the long entrance there’s a small parking lot and a neat wooden panel with some information. The trails are easy to follow but some of them were laying in the ground. Check for ticks as usual.
Oct 30, 2024 · Google ReviewSo, for this place make sure to turn on the first dirt road that says 42-46, I believe. The second dirt road next to it goes to a person’s house and just our luck that the owner was home leaving as we were pulling in, looking for the trail. You need to drive all the way down the dirt road, past the house that’s on the right. It’s a little confusing because the sign says no motorized vehicle (which a car is) so we were hesitant to keep going, but rest assure, keep going! At the end of the road is the parking lot with the large trail map. As for the trail, it’s a little weirdly marked but you can’t get too lost. They all eventually intersect and meet up. We took the red trail to the green mark (which turns blue) and then to yellow trail which goes around the water. It’s a beautiful walking trail that we didn’t even know existed.
Nov 22, 2020 · Google ReviewActual address: 46 Guymard Turnpike, Godeffroy, NY 12729. There is a green and white sign that says "Neversink Preserve/The Nature Conservancy". Turn right onto the gravel road and follow it all the way to the end to get to the parking area. Beware of the dog that runs out into the road. There's a sign warning about it, and it really does run right into the road! The red trail starts just to the left of the signage. We did portions of all 4 trails - Red, White, Yellow and Blue. We ran into a young black bear as soon as we got onto the yellow trail, so be aware of your surroundings! Pay attention to the trail markings, they can be very sparse in certain locations, especially at junctions. The yellow trail along the river was beautiful. Portions of the blue trail were extremely muddy and very overgrown in certain places. Beautiful preserve overall, just wish there was better signage.
Sep 21, 2019 · Google ReviewPretty nature preserve with trails leading to the Neversink River. There is parking at the trailhead and some explanatory panels but no other facilities. Take care about deer ticks here; I picked a bunch of them off my dog in the evening after a short hike to the river and back. Bikes are not permitted. Access road is not plowed in winter.
