Steve in NEPA (Steve in NEPA)I was craving Mexican food for lunch today, and since El Patron was just 15 minutes away and I had never tried it before, why not give it a shot? Arriving at 1pm, I got a good feeling about the place as there were several (10 or more) people dining there. But the food feeling soon stopped. First impressions: The parking lot and surrounding area had a lot of garbage strewn around, and the lot itself needed some repair. The setting is nice, but the building itself looked a bit ramshackled. The decor inside was typical of most Americanized Mexican restaurants. Service was prompt, and my order came out quickly, but that's where service stopped. I finished my diet coke and wanted another, but spent a majority of my time eating my meal with no refill. The food was okay, but the presentation was sloppy, as if things were just plopped on the plate. It lacked real taste. And the price was a bit high for what it was. El Patron, I hoped for better.

Fashion and FoodDefinitely order the churros for dessert! Great selection of authentic Mexican options. Perfect for date night or out with a large group.
