Edmonston House
Built in 1755, this stone home served as headquarters for General Horatio Gates, an intriguer and schemer during the Revolutionary War during the winter of 1783. After the war it was returned to the Edmonston family and is now restored to that period. July-Sept, Sun, 2-5pm.

Nice to see how the middle class lived in Revolutionary America; most houses are of the upper class. Its also great to see the house lit with candles and with a fire in the fireplace; the houses managed by NY state don't allow fire.
