I’m not sure how I haven’t written a review yet, but better late than never. We’ve been regular customers for a while now and just love having Drifter in our local community. What a treasure. From the food to their kind hospitality, Tara and the crew at Drifter are the loveliest. Her ferments are beyond delicious. My personal favorites are the kimchi…we can’t live without it! Her tempeh, both in house with sandwiches or great when offered to take home packaged for your own creations is the best I’ve ever had. The cashew spread is amazing, and the pickles are the best. We’re pretty discerning where we eat and I feel comfortable eating Tara’s food because I know the integrity of her sourcing and preparation are so high, and as local as can be. It’s clean food at its best. Last but certainly not least…I almost hate to mention how incredible her sourdough is, because if you’re lucky enough to get some while it’s available, you know. My husband is obsessed and it’s really hard to eat any other bread after hers. I should also mention, I’ve been exclusively gluten free (a sensitivity) for 15 years and to my delight I can enjoy her bread. Her fermentation is so masterful that it’s changed my tolerance…what a new day to enjoy such delicious bread again! Thank you Drifter for being an anchor for delicious, healthful, beautiful food and drinks. We adore you guys!
Jul 11, 2026 · Google ReviewThis place is a real gem and you can tell they're really passionate about what they do. I didn't get to try the food but I went there for their pourover coffee and it didn't disappoint, expertly prepared by Allie, who is a delight all on her own. Everything seems to be locally sourced (coffee was from Big Mouth Coffee Roasters in Beacon), and they have some cool seasonal offerings like ramp sauerkraut which was hand foraged in the area by the owner. The bread was delicious but it seems to be pretty popular and sell out, so reserving a loaf or calling ahead seems to be the way to go.
May 25, 2026 · Google ReviewEverything is excellent. Very much a fan of the sourdough bread and the avocado toast with misonaise. I am not vegetarian, but everything I've tried including the bbq tempeh sandwich has been delicious and filling. I tried a gluten free miso chocolate chip cookie once --so good. I've not usually been impressed by gluten free baked goods as they tend to be dry, but the cookie did not disappoint. There is also a thoughtfully curated selection of local goods that I have purchased some of and have been very happy with the quality.
Mar 17, 2026 · Google ReviewI love Drifters Ferments. Tara is a fermentation artist - the real deal - and everything here is delicious. Favorites: the vegetable crackers, fermented cashew spread, and the fermented veggies (especially Golden Dandy). The chai lattes are to die for, and the sourdough always looks amazing. Also an awesome, thoughtfully curated grocery selection (yes, she even has natto!). Mindful local sourcing, great vibes, and honestly my favorite place to eat in the area. Highly recommend!!!
Feb 12, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat find. The Ferment Flight was a great introduction to all their wares. We also picked up a bag of their cultured crackers, vegan and gluten free (GF) - amazing. The Nicaragua pour of was dark without being bitter - rich and smooth. So glad we took the detour to stop in.
