Arlene & Tom’s is one of those classic breakfast spots that just gets it right. Nothing fancy, but everything hits. Omelets were packed and cooked well, toast came out perfect, and the home fries had that crispy outside soft inside combo you want. French toast was solid too, not overly sweet, just right. Portions are good, food comes out quick, and it has that real neighborhood diner feel. Service was on point, no nonsense, just took care of you. Only reason it’s not a full 5 is because it’s not doing anything unique, just really good execution of the basics. But honestly, that’s kind of the point here. If you want a reliable, no-frills breakfast that delivers, this spot does exactly that. 👍
Apr 25, 2026 · Google ReviewI stopped here on my travels from The South headed to Connecticut. I stopped in for a late breakfast and I ordered the corned beef hash over medium eggs and some home fries. The home fries were very delicious some of the best home fries I've ever had. The corned beef hash was also good My eggs were slightly overcooked but I'd rather have them overcooked than undercooked. I would highly recommend stopping into this place if you're ever traveling through. Or if you live in town stop in Great place to get some food.
May 22, 2026 · Google ReviewA true diner! Food was reasonably priced and came out fast. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Came around 9:16 am on a Sunday and got a table right away. Good vibes and kind staff. I loved that I was able to order just one slice of French toast for a few bucks. The perfect little bit of sweet with my savory eggs and potatoe pancake. You can also order just one pancake. More places need to offer this. The baked goods at the counter are delicious! We all got a cookie. It was so good. Soft and homemade just like being at grandmas.
May 21, 2024 · Google ReviewFood was delicious! Got a build your own burger and the thing was huge, but still priced nicely. The server was really nice. Its a cute place to eat at.
May 23, 2026 · Google ReviewAfter a day driving around the scenic Hudson Valley, we decided to find a local eatery. Arlene and Tom's came up in a search and was very close by. We decide to give it a try. It is a very local eatery which has been in existence for 50 years; and does not disappoint. Their sign says Home of the Meanyburger. So you have to order what a place is known for. Its one of the best burgers I have had. Also had an order of fries which were non greasy and had a very nice crisp. Perfect! Other orders were Fish and Chips, Ham on Rye with lettuce and tomato, and a Chicken Salad sandwich. Beverages were Boylan sodas. If you have never had Boylans, give it a try. Excellent, and it complimented lunch. Service was great at a comfortable price point. We did not get any dessert but the menu listed pies. I suspect they are very good and probably home made. We did, however, grabbed a few of the collasal chocolate chip cookies and an oatmeal raised cookie that were on the counter service area. All in all, it's a keeper place. There is a reason it's been around for fify years. Consistent purveyors of fine vittles. If you are in the Port Jervis area, you must stop here for lunch.
