Dont judge a book by its cover. Sure the outside is run down and parts of the hotel are closed off and the pool hasn't been opened for theast decade but the rooms were actually nice for a Wyndham... they were clean, remodeled, had a fridge and microwave, comfortable bed and pillows. Really no complaints with the room I was in. The hallways are creepy and need a makeover. There are also long term residents who hang out around the parking lot stairs so its a little unwelcoming. No free breakfast but they had a coffee machine in the lobby.
Aug 14, 2026 · Google ReviewThis location is OK. The room was clean and in good shape except for the picture on the tv which seem to have a bad connection. No complimentary breakfast or coffee in the rooms. The hallways are dark and creepy, reminds me of the movie "The Shining" . The outside is poorly maintained. The staff is nice and friendly. I would stay here again if I had to. Not bad for the price but definitely can use some improvements.
May 21, 2026 · Google ReviewHoward Johnson's is a Wyndham experience. There are more hotels in the area that are owned by Wyndham. This is the best one out of the three. And if you're on this side of 9W you're a lucky one. You do get the occasional situations you have to deal with. But you're not at a five star hotel. My experience the staff here is phenomenal. They take the time to address your needs. From the manager John who works harder than any manager I've ever seen. To Courtney and the rest of the staff. If you're looking for that perfect stay spend 3 or 4 hundred dollars. But for the money you spend it's definitely worth it.
Jun 19, 2026 · Google ReviewLook If you dont got kids with you, this place will serve. I used it traveling for business, and it did its job. The appearance was not great. But the rooms were serviceable and the staff friendly. Compared to the problems with the "nicer" hotels in Brooklyn and Trenton, it was nice to get your keys and just go to your to sleep.
