Overall we had a wonderful stay. Went here for a wedding. The restaurant and bar is nice with good food and great service. Love the views it has. I can't speak for the Inn or the Lodge but the room in the cottage was small. I would say it would be worth it to stay in one of the cottages if you have a group staying in the same one as it has a communal space that is connected to the rooms. It also, in my opinion, is kind of pricey. (Granted it was much less than staying in NYC this time of year.) It would have been nice to stay here all 3 days but only could afford the one day because there was a rate we could get it at. All in all great experience.

I stayed for 2 nights in the overlook lodge. The room was nice and the view was good. However, the items in the vending machine in the overlook lodge was expensive, towards the end of our stay, one of the light bulbs in our bathroom was flickering, there is no other food in the overlook lodge except the vending machine, every time we wanted to go somewhere we had to turn around at the main building, if we wanted to go back to our room from the main building; we had to go all the way around the roundabout. I would appreciate a road going straight up to Hessian Drive. Another thing about driving up to the over to the overlook lodge was after the Echo Lodge, Spring Lodge, and stone cottages, the road gets very dark. Also, at the overlook lodge, the parking is somewhat far from the building. For the 1915 restaurant, I got the smash burger, it was very good and I recommend it. The employees are nice as well. If you want a hotel with a great view, I would recommend Bear Mountain Inn! I would also return here next time I am in the area!

Bear Mountain Inn is a wonderful place to stay in the Hudson River Highlands. The Inn feels like a classic mountain lodge, with a nice restaurant with gorgeous mountain views and reasonable prices. Hiking trails are just outside the Inn including an original section of the Appalachian Trail. Highly recommend!

The building is really beautiful & full of niceties, the mountain is beautiful, the staff is great. Lots of construction now & the busses full of nyc people around lake..really NOT great. The breakfast in the 1st floor Cafe is absolutely disgusting & the zoo had very few animals...no bears, no coyotes, no deer or other large animals. I go to a small family petting zoo with more animals. The spa is great, the jewel of the facility A good place with spouse..off season for 2 days.

Great stay at Bear Mountain Inn - cottages. Very clean rooms. Daily service. Great friendly staff. We requested an extra pillow and it was brought out to us quickly. Linens are all fresh and comfortable. We slept very well and enjoyed, hiking Hessian Lake, Perkins Tower trail and the trail side zoo. We enjoyed daily coffee at the Hikers cafe and found great souvenirs at the Gift shop. So many wonderful choices. We look forward to our next stay!
