Yael WJust wow! We stumbled upon this incredible museum while looking for a place to stop and visit on our road trip. Beyond moving that a place like this exists to honor our fallen and injured heroes. I found the displays and exhibits were really interactive and educational without being too overwhelming. I learned a lot in a brief time. I think the staff member who greeted us at the desk was named Chris and he was also phonemonal. Really knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a great introduction. If you have a family member who received a Purple Heart you can register them with proof. We have homework to do this for my grandfather who was there on DDay. Wish I could give this place more stars. Worth the visit if you want to feel proud and thankful.

Zeromus JBit of hidden jewel. Very striking and interesting facts about this medal and history. Exhibits are well preserved. A wing of the museum holds additional items such old artillery cannons worth taking a look.

Mike ZThere are two museums in separate wings of the building. One of them is the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor museum dedicated to collection and preservation of award recipients. Interactive exhibits with stories are very touching and you end up spending more time in this wing than you might have initially planned.

Janell DukeFantastic museum, and I love that they have disposable stylus to use on the screens. I have a compromised immune system (cancer), so appreciate not touching the screens directly. It is this attention to detail that makes this place a great visit.

Ryan MazierskiThe National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is extraordinary historical site that commemorates the journey of those soldiers who have received the Purple Heart. The museum guides visitors through military history using artifacts, images, video presentations, and interactive displays. Perhaps, what is the most touching part of the displays is soldiers letters chronicling their experience in battle. The museum should be toured in tandem with the New Windsor Cantonment, which the museum shares space with. It is easy to spend a few hours here. The museum does make it possible to research family members who have received a Purple Heart. The staff was friendly and helpful. The museum is free to all and quite an experience. Check the website or call for hours and days when they're open.
